Works with .tif, .tiff and the JPG you call JPEG
The two TIFF spellings are the same format, and JPG and JPEG are the same too. Add a file with either extension and you get a .jpg back; there is no separate tool to look for.

Convert to JPG
Add a TIFF or TIF file and get a single JPG back. For a multi-page TIFF, you get page one only.
To convert tiff to jpg, add the .tif or .tiff file, keep JPG as the output format and download the result. In our test, a 5.8 MB TIFF with three pages became one 89 KB jpg of page one only, because a JPG holds a single image.
Transfers use HTTPS, and files converted on the free tier are deleted after 24 hours, so the result is not a long-term archive. Quality depends on the source file, so open the JPG file once before you share it.
TIFF (Tagged Image File Format)
A raster container used for scans and print work. One file can hold several images, each with its own directory, and it can store uncompressed, LZW or Group 4 data, bit depths above 8 per channel and colour spaces such as CMYK. Revision 6.0 dates from 1992 and is controlled by Adobe.
JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)
A lossy photo format from the early 1990s built on block-based DCT compression. It is limited to 8-bit standard dynamic range with no alpha channel, yet it opens in practically every editor, viewer, email client and content management system.
A three-page TIFF test scan, 1000 × 750 px, converted on indox.org

The two TIFF spellings are the same format, and JPG and JPEG are the same too. Add a file with either extension and you get a .jpg back; there is no separate tool to look for.
The conversion runs on indox servers, so it works the same on Windows, Mac, a Chromebook, an Android phone or an iPhone. You do not need Photoshop or a desktop viewer that understands TIFF.
A multi-page TIFF gives one JPG, and this page says so up front. We measured it: a three-page TIFF gave one JPG of page one. If you need every page, convert the file to PDF instead.
Drop the file on the box or choose it from your device. Keep the original TIFF: it is your lossless master, and the JPG cannot be turned back into it.
Check that JPG is the output format on the converter, then start the conversion. In our test it took 5.3 seconds from the click to Completed.
Save the JPG and look at it before you send or upload it. If the source had several pages, this file shows the first one only.
You hand over a TIFF or TIF file and take away a JPG of its first page, ready for upload forms, email and editors that do not read TIFF. The page lists what a JPG cannot keep, so you know before you convert whether it fits the job.

The upload box shows the live size limit before you add a file. Signing in raises it; a paid plan does not change it.
TIFF in, JPG out. Pick another output on the converter if you need a different format.
Files are encrypted in transit over HTTPS and processed on indox infrastructure.
Free-tier files are kept for 24 hours after the job finishes, then deleted automatically.

Scanners and fax software often save TIFF. When a case system or email asks for a picture, a JPG of the page does the job; for a multi-page scan, a PDF is the better choice.
Shop and website platforms commonly block TIFF uploads, and renaming the extension does not convert the file. A real JPG goes through the upload field.
A large TIFF master is awkward to email. A JPG copy is quick to send and view, while the TIFF stays on your drive for printing and editing.

Open the converter, add your TIFF or TIF file, keep JPG as the output and download the result. You do not need Photoshop or any software on your computer.
A JPG can hold one image only, and this converter takes the first page of the TIFF. To keep every page, convert the file with TIFF to PDF instead and check the page count of the result.
The pixel size and the dpi value stay the same: our 1000 × 750 px, 300 dpi TIFF gave a 1000 × 750 px, 300 dpi JPG. No ICC colour profile is embedded in the result.
Yes. TIF and TIFF are the same format with a shorter and a longer extension, and the same goes for JPG and JPEG. Both TIFF spellings are accepted here and the output is a .jpg file.
Yes, some. TIFF can be lossless, while this converter saves JPG at a fixed quality of about 75, so fine detail is approximated. At normal viewing size the difference is often hard to see, but keep your TIFF if you need a master for print or editing.
The converter keeps CMYK as it is, and a CMYK JPEG shows wrong or odd colours in many browsers and apps. Convert the artwork to RGB in an image editor first, then convert that file here.
Not completely. Any move from TIFF to JPG is lossy. If you need no loss at all, convert to PNG instead, which is lossless but gives a larger file.
Choose JPG for photos and small files that must upload or send easily. Choose PNG for screenshots, line art or text scans where sharp edges matter more than size.
Yes. The converter works in the browser on any of them, so there is nothing to install. Add the file, convert it and save the JPG.
Many upload forms, shop platforms and content systems list JPG and PNG only. Changing the file name to .jpg does not help, because the contents are still TIFF. Convert it to a real JPG.
