Corporation Application for Quick Refund of Overpayment of Estimated Tax
Form 4466, Corporation Application for Quick Refund of Overpayment of Estimated Tax, is a one-page application a corporation uses to ask for a quick refund of estimated tax it overpaid for the tax year. The IRS page says any corporation that overpaid its estimated tax may apply if the overpayment is at least 10% of the expected tax liability and at least $500.
The form works the test out line by line: estimated tax paid plus any prior-year overpayment credited, minus the expected income tax liability, gives the overpayment on line 8a. The form says that if the amount does not meet both limits, do not file this form. It also asks which return the corporation will file, such as Form 1120, 1120-C, 1120-F, 1120-L or 1120-PC, and for a record of estimated tax deposits.
The form says to go to www.irs.gov/Form4466 for instructions and the latest information. You can fill out the PDF free in your browser on this page and download it without an account.

Enter the estimated income tax paid during the tax year and any prior-year overpayment credited to this year's estimated tax. Add them on line 3.
Enter total tax from the appropriate line of the tax return on line 4. Add any personal holding company tax and estimated refundable fuel tax credit on line 6, and subtract it from line 4.
Subtract line 7 from line 3. The form says the corporation is eligible if this is at least 10% of line 7 and at least $500. Then enter the routing number, account type and account number.
List each estimated tax deposit by date and amount, then sign, date and enter a title.
You get the real form, filled in a browser tab, with nothing standing between you and the finished PDF.
