Verification of VA Benefits
VA Form 26-8937 is the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Verification of VA Benefits. It is addressed to a lender. The Veteran or applicant fills in Items 1 to 10, the completed form goes to the appropriate VA Regional Loan Center, and VA fills in a For VA Use Only section and returns it to the lender. The form says it is kept as part of the lender's loan origination package.
The instructions to lender say the Veteran or applicant completes the form only if he or she is receiving or has received VA disability payments, would receive them but for receipt of retired pay, filed a claim for VA disability benefits before discharge from active duty service, or is a surviving spouse of a Veteran receiving DIC payments. VA's section reports any VA benefit-related indebtedness and the funding fee status. You can fill out the PDF free in your browser on this page and download the result without an account.
