35% Exemption Request from 85/15 Reporting Requirement (Fillable)
VA Form 22-10216 is the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs 35% Exemption Request from 85/15 Reporting Requirement. It is a school form, not a student or Veteran application. VA's form page says school administrators use it to request an exemption of the routine reporting requirements of the 85/15 rule. The form cites 38 U.S.C. 3680A(d) and 38 CFR 21.4201.
The form says the exemption is based on total student enrollment at the school versus enrollment of students receiving VA funding, with each enrolled student counted as one student. That differs from the 85/15 calculation on VA Form 22-10215, which uses full-time equivalency.
The PDF is two pages: general information and instructions on page 1, and the request with the calculation, certification and signature on page 2. VA's page says the exemption can also be requested online. You can fill out the PDF free in your browser on this page and download the result without an account.
