Standard Form 34 (SF 34): Annual Bid Bond

Standard Form 34 (SF 34), Annual Bid Bond, is a bond in which a principal and one or more sureties bind themselves to the United States of America. The form says the principal contemplates submitting bids from time to time during the fiscal year shown to the department or agency named, and wants all of those bids covered by a single bond instead of a separate bid bond for each bid. Its footer prints STANDARD FORM 34 (REV. 10/2023), Prescribed by GSA - FAR (48 CFR) 53.228(f), and GSA hosts a copy in its forms library. GSA's page says the form is intended for use by government contractors and contracting personnel for compliance with and management of financial security requirements in Federal Government contracts.

The instructions say the form is authorized for use in the acquisition of supplies and services, excluding construction, in lieu of Standard Form 24 (Bid Bond), and that any deviation from it will require the written approval of the Administrator of General Services. It carries OMB Control Number 9000-0001, Expiration Date 1/31/2027.

The Paperwork Reduction Act statement estimates 1 hour to read the instructions, gather the facts and answer the questions. You can fill it out free in your browser on this page and download the result without an account.
