Performance Bond
Standard Form 25 (SF 25), Performance Bond, is a bond in which a principal and one or more sureties bind themselves to the United States of America in a penal sum for a contract the principal has entered into. Its footer prints STANDARD FORM 25 (REV. 10/2023), Prescribed by GSA-FAR (48 CFR) 53.228(b), and GSA hosts a copy in its forms library. GSA's page says the form is intended for use by government contractors and contracting personnel for compliance with and management of financial security requirements in Federal Government contracts.
The instructions say the form is authorized for use in connection with Government contracts, and that any deviation from it will require the written approval of the Administrator of General Services. It carries OMB Control Number 9000-0001, Expiration Date 1/31/2027. The Date Bond Executed box says it must be same or later than date of contract.
The Paperwork Reduction Act statement estimates 1 hour to read the instructions, gather the facts and answer the questions. You can fill it out free in your browser on this page and download the result without an account.

Co-sureties may allocate their limitations of liability, provided the sum total equals 100% of the bond penal sum. The Liability Limit block holds the penal sum unless a co-surety arrangement is proposed.

When individual sureties are involved, the form says a completed Affidavit of Individual Surety (Standard Form 28) for each individual surety shall accompany the bond.
Anyone signing in a representative capacity furnishes evidence of authority if that representative is not a member of the firm, partnership or joint venture, or an officer of the corporation involved.
