Form 12673: Agreement to Bid

Form 12673, Agreement to Bid, is a one-page IRS form signed by a bidder. In it, the bidder agrees, in consideration of the United States Government offering the described property for public sale, to bid at least a stated dollar amount if the property is offered for sale within a stated number of days from the date of the agreement.

The form describes the property by its legal description and address, records a deposit the bidder authorizes to be applied against the sale price if the bidder is the successful bidder, and sets out what happens to the deposit if the bidder does not bid the agreed amount. It ends with the bidder's signature and contact information. The form does not print a mailing address or say where it is sent.
